I was one of Ed Morgan's students from Palmyra High School, his first year there. I was a Sophomore. I had him for English, in the Pit. I was a quiet student, not very outgoing. I was not one to blurt out answers but, Mr. Morgan knew when I had a correct answer and when to ask me for the answer. He treated all his students with kindness and respect. He was a really wonderful teacher. I ran into him several times once I graduated and he always remembered me. I still have all my yearbooks and often look back at what was written, especially what he wrote. He will truly be missed. I wish I could attend his services but, I am caring for my husband, as he just got out of the hospital from having pneumonia. I wish to extend my condolences to his family. I will try to make it to the cemetery, as it is near my house. God Bless You, Mr. Morgan

Coping with the death of a loved one is never easy. When Lazarus died, Jesus “groaned in the spirit and became troubled,” and shortly afterward he “gave way to tears.” (John 11:33, 35) So, when someone we love dies, it does not show weakness to cry. God will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. (Revelation 21:4).May the God of love comfort the Morgan family and friends.

Words cannot express how shocked we were to hear the news about our dear friend Ed who also was one of my former coaches. Ed became a fixture in our family sharing events, meals, & many conversations. Even after moving to Tennessee, we stayed in contact; but one thing was certain, after every talk, Ed always inquired about each family member including our pet dog. He loved people, life, doing for others, and he always wanted to be involved in some activity, a proven trait as a servant of the Lord. We shall remember Ed for his smile and crackling laughter and his many phone calls for advice and promises for visits. Just know that Ed will be watching over you now from above, he always will be with you. He truly has won his victory in Jesus as a true & faithful servant of our Lord & Savior. Ed will surely be missed by many yet never forgotten. Rest in peace dear friend - until we meet again.

Ed Morgan was an angel on earth. He lived his life with the mission of helping others. He had a faith that led him to make the world a better place and he did. Wherever he went, so did smiles. Ed was a caregiver and dear friend to my late husband Kevin and Ed did so with strength, compassion and humility.
Ed cared deeply about everyone he loved. He did all things (taught, coached, spoke, worked, exercised) with a spirit that inspired us all. I can't fathom that this man who was bigger than life and who lived so passionately is gone. I will continue to lead a life with purpose with Ed in mind. Rest in peace dear Eddie.

Coach Morgan was a great man.
I was skinny and slow -- a totally unsuitable football player. But I ran hard, took the hits, and gave as good as I got. I knew something of the challenges he'd overcome, and they inspired me to always 'bring the hammer.'
In return Coach never let me down. He treated me like a starter, played me where he could, and taught us all that good lives are built on curiosity, compassion, high ethical standards, and endless self-examination.
I quit the team after two years. I'd proved something to myself, and it was my dream to be an actor. He supported me, congratulated me, and kept in touch with my career.
I expected nothing less from him. When we met in later years I continued to call him 'Sir' -- he deserved nothing less.
I live in New York and I'm sorry I can't come to see Coach off. But sir, if you're listening -- bring the hammer. Stay tough out there.

I was fortunate enough to have had Mr. Morgan as a teacher in Palmyra HS from 2000-2004. He was always a favorite among the entire school as he made learning a fun and memorable experience. He most definately left a lasting impression on me and many others as well as making sure we always "brought the hammer down". He will be greatly missed by so many, my condolences go out to all of his close family and friends as well as the many others whose lives he touched.

When I heard about Coach Morgan, I just couldn't believe it. I cannot tell you how sad I am to hear about this... Morg was an excellent teacher and coach. I learned so much from him. Some of my best high school memories was when I was playing softball under his direction. He always knew what I needed individually as a player. He treated each of his players as stars and encouraged each of us to give 110%. I remember him allowing me to come up from JV to be mentored by the senior players (and often filling in as catcher). I remember him entrusting me to pinch hit and he helped me believe in myself. As a Varsity player, some of my best times was when I was behind the plate. I remember him staying after practice working with me as I perfected my throw to 2nd base... My HS softball memories and times in Freshman English have stayed with me always... so many good times... Although I did not have much interaction with him after graduation, he forever left a mark as I thought about him and the "hammer" often. He taught me to strive and never give up. I can tell you that my perseverance and hard work was a reflection of his own qualities as a coach, teacher and mentor ... He will be missed for sure. RIP Coach and Thank you!

Fly high Coach! You brought so much enthusiasm to everything you did and taught us to do the same in our lives. I'm truly sorry for breaking your windshield when I was a freshman, although I'd told you many times before and I'm sure after a while it became a funny story to tell. You have my gratitude for continuing to teach me life lessons even after high school by supporting me, out of the blue, at two of the darkest hours of my life. You will be remembered fondly always. Keeping your family close in thought and sending them peace during such a difficult time.
