We are so sorry to hear about the passing of this wonderful man. My mother and father adored him and I will always have fond memories of Paul when I was a younger
kid. I know he's up in heaven right now having a martini with Jack !

If a man’s life is to be judged by his children, you had a wonderful one!
I am fortunate that I was able to thank you while you were alive for having the opportunity to share in the lives of all your wonderful children and grandchildren! Each one of them is intelligent, charming, funny, insightful, and loving in their own way. It is the seeds that you sow that bear this fruit! It has enriched my life and I will forever be indebted to you for being their "GPD".
I know you knew how each one of them looked up to you, Elaine, and Diana for your guidance and love. Always trying to steer them in the right direction. God bless your love and companion, Elaine, who shared your happiness and was always there for you when you needed support! I am sure your spirit will be looking down from above and will be with us always. Rest in Peace. Dave

I want to thank you so much for the wonderful gift of friendship you extended and the lessons that I learned.....You were such a great Father to your kids and friend to everyone else around you... My Papa Smurf was/is an extraordinary human being.He laughed at a good joke, cried at a loss, loved his family, and adored his furbabies! Words cannot express the impending sadness I've felt over the last few years, watching him struggle and watching the ones I hold dear to me, struggle as well. We gained years of time with him, overall, with the daily support and care of his incredible wife Elaine(Momma) and her son Michael. Their daily care for him gave all of us the chance for years of extra spontaneous dinners, birthday parties, random gatherings, conversations in the kitchen, his mustache and beard kisses, "I love you's", extra "hellos" and "see ya soon's", and the easy moments that I'll never take for granted. We were blessed with the chance to send him off, in a way, we could all live with, in our forever altered hearts. I will miss his gruff and blunt"George Carlin" and "Archie Bunker" ways, seeing flowers on the counter that he bought for his wife, knowing he was always a short drive or a recliner away, and how he would call us from the other room to show us the cute position one of the dogs were sleeping in.I will miss chatting about movies and trading off listening to awesome music, the accentuation of his cursing, his circa 80's "Eat it or wear it" attitude, the comfort of hearing his car pull up, his newly-instatated "swear cup"(go figure!),and most of all, and I will certainly miss the sound of his voice saying my name. I will not miss his pain and struggle, the breath-stopping phone calls, preparing Peter and Scarlett, waking up in cold sweats and wondering if this beautiful day, which will inevitably create an amazing rainbow, will be his last.(He was 15 minutes shy of us getting that
rainbow on his last day).I'll never forget the lessons he taught us and the strength he showed to stay with us for as long as he could. Thank you to everyone who have been there to support the ones I love most, through the thick and thin, in large ways, as well as small ways.It never goes unnoticed and it will never be forgotten.

Dear Jay
Farewell to you my forever Friend. I was your first friend when you came to Burlington and our wonderful friendship has lasted through all these all these glorious years that we were fortunate to share. We always had such a blast together along with the rest of your family and our Gang. We enjoyed the good times as well as sharing the hard times.
I will always remember your kind and loving ways, and what a great father and family man you were. Your beautiful children are the greatest. I enjoyed watching them when they were little and now they have grown and have beautiful little ones of their own. I know you are so proud of them all! Your lovely wife, Elaine and children and family will surely miss you but will have such great memories of the Great Man you are. I have been truly blessed to have you in my life and to call you my Friend.
May you rest in peace my dear friend. I shall miss you, your great smile and infectious laughter. Until we meet again, may God keep you in the palm of his hand - p,s, Happy birthday - I know you'll be having a grand ole' time up in heaven!! say hey to the rest of the gang for me.
