We are sorry to see her leaving us. We have fond memories of her since we met her first thru the Renew Choir in the 1980's.
Rest in Peace

This was woman was a magnificent child of God! I knew her my whole life. Aunt Lillian was always kind and thoughtful. I always loved visiting her, Uncle Mike, Mike, Pat & Scott. She raised a beautiful family!
Her accomplishments did not end when she left the house, they multiplied! I knew she was a nurse, but the truth shone through when I was a young woman, hospitalized for a serious surgery at the University of Penn Hospital where she worked.
After the surgery I was resting. I awoke to see my Dr. standing over me with a strange expression on her face. I thought it meant bad news. Instead, she looked at me and said "Who are you?" I didn't understand the question. Then she said, "Do you know who came to see you while you were sleeping?...Lillian Spenser! She's the head nurse, that's a big deal. So we wanted to know who you sere!"
"She's my aunt." I said feebly. Then she told me about and incident when she was a young resident. It had been her first surgery attempt and how well she did would be a litmus test of her skills. She was feeling confident and ready to proceed. They began. Aunt Lillian, very experienced, was in attendance. Half way through the surgery something went wrong. The young Dr. was doing her best, but did not yet possess skills to handle the complications that were brewing in that situation. Inwardly she began to panic. Sensing her fear and recognizing time was of the essence, Lillian Spencer took over and saved the day! I'm sure there were many other stories like this because that's the kind of person she was.
I will miss her. I am, however comforter that she & Uncle Mike are now back together.
God bless you and your families: Mike, Pat & Scott!
