Obituary of Eleanor A. Neuenfeldt

Please share a memory of Eleanor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Eleanor Ann "Chips" Neuenfeldt, age 82, of Willingboro, NJ was surrounded by loved ones and passed peacefully after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease, on December 31st, 2024, in Moorestown, NJ.

Eleanor was born in Camden, NJ to parents John "Jack" and Mildred Wiseman on February 27th, 1942. She was a loving big sister to her 2 brothers, John, and Dennis, whom she adored. Eleanor's education journey started with grade school at St Cecelia Catholic school in Pennsauken which was followed by graduating in 1959 from Merchantville High School.

Upon finishing high school, Eleanor enrolled and graduated from Helene Fuld School of Nursing with a Registers Nurses degree in 1963. Shortly after graduation Eleanor felt the call to serve the country she loved and enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a 1st Lieutenant and Registered Nurse. It was during her tenure at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan where she met the love of her life, Stephan "Steve" Neuenfeldt who was stationed there as an Aero Medical Technician assigned to the Air Rescue Service. Their time together in the service was filled with excitement, smiles, sneaking around and ultimately ended with their beautiful marriage in 1965.

After their service concluded in 1969, Eleanor and Steve planted their roots in Willingboro, New Jersey. It was the home where they started their family, raised their children and made countless memories. During these years Eleanor worked at a local hospital in Labor and Delivery, NICU, Nursery, and pre-natal clinic for 40+ years. Eleanor's passion for nursing made her loved, remembered, and adored by patients and colleagues alike. She was an avid reader and enjoyed making counted cross stitch designs for her loved ones. Upon retirement, Eleanor and Steve enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and visited 40 National Parks, explored Canada, took fall foliage trips to New England, cruised Alaska and wintered in Florida. When not on the road, she could be found loving and spending precious time with her grandchildren and family. She was a devout Christian, volunteered collecting food for Catholic Charities and was a regular whole blood donor with the Red Cross where her O-neg blood was sorely needed. Eleanor was a loving child of God, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and will be deeply missed.

Eleanor is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Stephan Neuenfeldt, of Willingboro, NJ. Daughters; Jennifer Seitz (Steve), of Kennesaw, GA, and Eleanor Iovannicci (Mark), of Pitman NJ. Brother, Dennis Wiseman (Susan) of Davenport, FL. Grandchildren; Grace (13), Stephan III (12), Faith (10), Hope (8) and Brock (7), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
