Obituary of Marie Michelle Richard
Marie Michelle Richard, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, in Voorhees, New Jersey. She was 85 years old.
Michelle was born on February 6, 1939, in the picturesque coastal town of Le Grau-du-Roi, France. In 1965, she embarked on a new adventure, marrying her beloved late husband, Steven Craig Richard, and embracing the life of an Air Force wife. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming their daughter, Veronique Richard, in 1969, and their son, Timothy Richard, in 1973.
Michelle’s journey in America began humbly as a bartender. She later found her calling at Wawa, where her hard work and determination saw her rise through the ranks until her well-deserved retirement. Her career was a testament to her resilience and tenacity, qualities she carried throughout her life.
Known for her infectious laugh and hard-nosed approach to life, Michelle played as hard as she worked. She was a spirited woman whose presence was felt by all who knew her. Her most notable achievements include the courageous decision to leave her family in France to create a new life in America, and the pride she took in her children and grandchildren.
Michelle is survived by her daughter, Veronique Richard, and her children, Marquel Charles and D'Zhanae Roman; Marquel gave her 4 great grandchildren; her son, Timothy Richard; and close friends, Mary and Wesley, along with the entire Cox family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.
As with all families, we had our differences, but in the end, we are all still family. Michelle was deeply loved, and she will be dearly missed. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of a formal service, the family requests that you honor Michelle’s memory in your own way, reflecting on the joyous moments shared with her.
Rest in peace, Michelle. Your spirit, laughter, and love will remain with us always.
