Judith Lay Harper

 

Judith Lay Harper of Willingboro, New Jersey passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at the age of 85.

Judy was born on February 5, 1939 in Camden, New Jersey to, Ralph Lay, Sr. and Evelyn Young Lay. Judy attended Haddonfield Memorial High School and Southern Seminary Junior College. After graduation, Judy worked at Campbell Soup Company in Camden, New Jersey.

In 1960, Judy met Marvin Harper, Jr. in Collingswood, NJ and they married in January 1961. Judy and Marv went on to have two daughters, Kathleen Suzanne Harper and Deborah Harper Smith. Judy was a devoted mother, who in her spare time enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. Judy loved crafts and made works of art, in counted cross-stitch, needlepoint, and tole painting. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Willingboro and served as Treasurer for many years. She was also previously active in the Willingboro Women's club.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her parents, Ralph, Sr. and Evelyn Lay; and brothers, Ralph, Jr. and William. She is survived by her daughters Kathy and Debbie (Bill); grandchildren Amanda Golton (Chris) and Drew Smith; and great grandson CJ Golton.

A memorial service for Judy is planned for 11 AM Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Presbyterian Church of Willingboro. All are welcome. Please meet directly at the church.
