As a friend of her daughter, Tish, I met Mrs. Hackett in the early 1960's. I remember her smile, her laugh and as always being pleasant to be around. My Mom, Nancy Gormley Clements, began her friendship with Martie at the same time. For the next 60 years they remained friends. When Mom moved away from Willingboro, the letters and phone calls began and continued for decades. They laughed together when times were good and consoled each other through the sad times. I even remember a consolation letter that they sent back and forth to each other! It has only been a couple of years that they lost touch with each other. Mom passed in January of 2023 and Martie in March of 2023 so the friends are together again. I miss my Mom so much, and it is a comfort to me that she has her friend Martie back by her side.
Condolences to Mrs. Hackett's family. I have great memories of being at your Sylvan Lane home.
