Robert was a wonderful man, neighbor, and friend. Always willing to help others, especially the youth. The always used to say that it took a village to raise a family and we loved him for it. He was a mentor to our children Madison 20, Jason 16, and Triston 14. Madison he taught to defend herself, Jason he taught how a man should shake hands, and Triston needed his help the most. He spent a lot of time talking with him about his anger and how to talk to, and treat people. Triston was devastated by the loss of Robert, his friend. I will always remember making dozens of cookies for the inmates Robert mentored at the local prison. He asked me to write messages on the bags because he said “some of these men haven’t heard a kind word or had a visitor in decades.” He would be so happy when I would write special messages or Bible verses on the bags letting them know that they are loved and that God forgives them. Robert was truly a magnificent person that we will miss dearly.

Q: How did you meet Robert?
