Eli Bennett Layton

Eli Bennett Layton passed away peacefully on July 17, 2022 in the Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Unit in Mt Holly, NJ.

Eli was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 15, 1934 to Reid Newman and Olive Lundy Layton. He was a retired towerman and later clerk in Contrail Corporation. He served honorably in the US Army in the medical core.

Eli is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Cavanagh Layton; children Cynthia Dillon (Craig Dillon), Heather Bigelow and Holly Mackley (Heath Mackley); grandchildren Charles Bigelow (Wendi Wills), Patrick Dillon, Christopher Dillon, Charles "CJ" Mackley, Lillyanna Mackley, Elizabeth Mackley and Esther Mackley; great granddaughter Jade Bigelow and one sister Mary Teti.

Celebration of Eli's Life will be held, Friday, July 22,2022, 11:00 am at the Goes - Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro,NJ, (609)871-1000. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, Friday Morning 10am - 11am at the funeral home. Interment : Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ,
