Obituary of Concetta Mattera

Concetta Marie Mattera, 94, of Willingboro, New Jersey passed away peacefully on June 26, 2022.

Concetta, known by friends and family, as Connie or Dolly, was born in The Bronx on December 14, 1927. On October 9, 1949 she married the love of her life, Joseph Mattera who she was happily married to for 55 years. Together they raised two daughters, Alice and Joanne.

She was a talented seamstress who worked for many years beginning her career at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. She ended her career as the manager of the alterations department at Pomeroy's in the Willingboro Plaza.

She enjoyed crocheting, going to the movies, reading, traveling, swimming at the Y, and most of all, spending time with her loved ones. She was a member of the Amici Italian Club for many years.

Connie is survived by her daughter Alice Springer, daughter Joanne Mackel, and son-in-law Russ Mackel, sister Anne Bogley, grandchildren Russell Springer (wife Mallory), Russell Mackel (wife Jill), Thomas Springer (wife Jennifer), Amanda Nisula (husband Jonathan). Great grandchildren, Russell Mackel, Sophia Springer, Regan Mackel, Benjamin Springer, Amelia Nisula, and Joseph Nisula. She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Calogero, mother Maria, son-in-law Russell, and husband Joseph Mattera.

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew, cared for, and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 1,2022, 11am at the Goes – Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation from 10am – 11am Friday morning at the funeral home. Interment : Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
