Obituary of David M. Poole

David "Dave" Poole, a longtime resident of Willingboro, N.J. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at his home with his beloved wife of 59 years, Bette (nee Unger), by his side.

He was predeceased by his father, David B. Poole and his wife, Betty Poole, his mother , Anna Rita Yorty, his brothers, James and Greg Poole and his sister, Rita Messina.

He is survived by his loving wife Bette, his daughters, grandchildren, great children, brother John Poole, and sister, Patti Trace.

Dave was an amazing, devoted and loving husband to Bette, and an affectionate, caring and incredibly fun father to Michele Druding (Michael), Wendy Smith (Stuard) and Ruth Familiar (Jim). He was a proud, witty and generous grandfather to Bill Druding (Shannon), Dan Smith, Rachel Familiar, Stuard Smith II (Martha), Hannah Familiar, David Smith (Mary), Joshua Smith (Jessy) and Katie Druding, and great-grandfather to Samantha, Stephanie Trace (Stuard III) Smith , Zachary Smith and Emily Druding.

Dave was a proud Navy veteran, retired milkman and maintenance man, and a Life Member of the Willingboro Volunteer Fire Company. He joined the fire company in January 1969, was Fireman of the Year in 1979, served as Lieutenant and later Captain of the Fire Police for 10 years, and was President of the Fire Company 1983 - 1984. Dave was also a Life Member of the Croydon VFW.

Dave had many hobbies that included fishing, bottle digging (antique collecting) and bargain hunting at garage sales. He was very clever and as a result, able to solve almost any problem and was also a lover of cats.

Dave was a true family man who was always dependable and completely engaged with his family. He loved and accepted all for who they were. His family was blessed to be loved by him and better because of him. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Because of COVID restrictions, the services and funeral will be limited to immediate family only. The family would appreciate prayers in lieu of flowers. The service and funeral will be private.
