Obituary of Rose Lawson

Rose Lawson, 92, of Willingboro, passed away peacefully at Samaritan Hospice, Mt Holly.

Rose was born during a blizzard in East Providence, Rhode Island to mother MaryLinhares de Melol DeCosta of St Michael, Azores Island, Portugal and fatherNezario DeCosta of Lisbon Portugal. She is predeceased by both parents, sisterMary, brother Manuel, brother Nezario, son Eric and husband Gustaf.

She is survived by her daughter Diane Lawson of Williamstown, NJ, her sisterIdalina Almeida of East Providence, RI, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Rose worked as a secretary at Monowatt in Rhode Island until the birth of her sonEric. She was then fortunate to be able to remain at home to raise her son anddaughter. Rose's passion in life was giving to others. She was one that lit up theroom. She had an infectious smile and outgoing personality. She loved tellingstories of her childhood and of the many lessons she learned throughout her life.Rose was active in supporting charities fighting the AIDS epidemic in the 1980's.Rose was an avid artist and was Past President of the Willingboro Art Alliance.

There will be a private memorial service held by the family.
