I also am devastated by this news of my lifelong friend Kathy. Kathy and I worked together (actually she trained me) at the Ground Round. We worked together for 13 years. We spent many nights doing sidework, laughing, Xmas was always fun bc Kathy used to talk about making sure she had the same amount of presents for Keesha and Jomo. Holidays were always important that Kathy always kept up the values and traditions for her family. She was a great Mom and loved her kids!!
I saw Kathy at Mr. Yancey's funeral (9-2017). We held hands through the service. After the service we talked in the parking lot for at least an hour catching up. I then learned of her stay in Virtua and what she had been through (never complaining ONCE). We texted that it was to long and swore we would do lunch soon. I had no idea she was going through another battle (I'm not on FB). i would have been there in a heartbeat to help her!! So sorry!!!
When I think about Kathy I think of many things: Loving boasting mother and Grandmom (she was so proud of all of you), Calmness, Loving, Hard working, KIND, Never complain, Beach, Family, Friends.....
If you were BLESSED by God to meet or be in Kathy's life or be in her presence YOU WERE BLESSED!!!! You walk among God's Angels and will forever be missed!!!!
Deepest Sympathies to the whole family. So Sorry!!

I am so sorry for you and all your family and friends. Kathie was such a kind and wonderful lady. This sounds kind of unusual but I think I will hear her voice until the day I pass. My husband and I were having dinner at Charlie Brown's several years ago. We were sitting in a corner when all of a sudden I hear this voice. My ears perked up and I said to my husband, "That must be Kathy! There is no other voice like Kathy's voice." And sure enough, it was Kathy. Not only was she a grand lady, she was also funny. She made us all better people. She will be missed by soooo many.

I am devastated over the news of Kathy‘s passing. Kathy was truly a gentle soul and a very good friend. When I first moved to Medford Kathy was my neighbor and she was a wonderful woman with a kind and generous heart. She loved her grandchildren and her children enormously. I remember she used to ask me to hide Easter eggs outside for her grandchildren the week of Easter. Are used to clean her house for her and she love coming home to a clean house. Especially when she was in the hospital and she would call me and say thank you so much, it was so nice coming home to a clean fresh smelling house. Kathy always gave me vegetables in the summertime and put flower pots on my step for gardening. My prayers go out to the family for your loss. I am very saddened by this news and I pray that God has a special seat for her, somewhere by the beach because that was Kathy‘s favorite place .

My condolences to the family! I worked with Kathy for a very long time at Charlie Browns. I was blessed with her support when my brother passed away 8 months ago. I did have the pleasure to visit with her at her home this past fall.. despite what she was going through ..she was so full of laughter with such great spirit! She was such a kind soul, great friend, proud mother and grandmother! She truly will be missed!

I met Kathy 9 years ago, we worked together, she was always watching out for me, always telling me how I could do better at my job, and always made me laugh, very sarcastic. It was a joy to be around her. I would visit even when I no longer worked with her, she was a hard working lady, beautiful person, and I’m privileged to have known her.

Kathy was a determined force who knew what she wanted in life.
Those of us at TOH knew her as an incredible cook who made spicy berry salsa dips and great apple pies.
You will be sadly missed.
Hugs to her family and Grandchildren

Kathy was a sweet and wonderful person. I worked with her at Charlie Brown’s steakhouse. She gave a a recipe for taco soup. When I stopped into visit, I would always ask for Kathy. She was a hard working woman who did not get to retire. I am sure she is enjoying the beautiful and relaxing place in heaven. I will truly miss her. Prayers and peace for her family.

Kathy will be missed by all who knew her, such a sweet and kind soul. It was a special coincidence to reconnect with her at the YMCA after many years. Keisha and my daughter were classmates in grade school. Her life was a blessing.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Kathy was always one of the kindest people I know, and it was so ironic that EVERY time I went to Charlie Browns she was our server. She always had such a beautiful spirit and smile; it truly emanated from her and could turn an “okay” day into a great day.
Sending light love and healing to anyone that was fortunate enough to have known her.
