Saddened to hear of my friend and old schoolmate, Claudius Wilfred Grimes. He and I went to school together at the Modern High school where he rode his lady's wheel bicycle to pick me up and drop me home in Grazettes many a school day. He was a kind fellow. We hooked up many years later in New York where we shared an apartment together with Professor Clive Daniel who passed away two weeks ago in New York. We were great pals in those days in Brooklyn along with John Nurse, another Modernite. John and Claudius took great care of me until John was drafted and was sent to Korea during the Vietnam War.
I must offer my condolences to Claudius' family here in Barbados and to his wife Eloise whom I also knew very well. May his soul rest in peace.

Known Claudius from school at the Modern High School Barbados, a kind and concern person, always kept in touch, his conversations rarely focused on himself. he was always eager to know how you are health wise, and willingly offered advise for improvement.
